Every parent knows the moment. Your child picks up a book, reads two pages, and puts it down. Now imagine a child who says, “Can I keep reading?” That is the feeling Getepic tries to create.
If you have heard about Getepic and want to know what it really is, this guide is for you. We will keep it simple and clear.
What Is Getepic?
Getepic is the web address many people use to reach Epic, a digital reading library for children. The official site is getepic.com, and the app is called “Epic: Kids’ Books & Reading.”
Epic gives kids access to more than 40,000 books, audiobooks, and learning videos. It is made for children aged 12 and under, and many reviewers recommend it for ages 2 to 12. Kids can read on a phone, tablet, Chromebook, or computer.
How Does the Epic Reading App Work?
It is very easy. A parent or teacher makes an account. Then each child gets their own profile. The child picks a few interests, like animals, space, or dinosaurs, and Epic shows books that match.
As your child reads more, the app learns what they enjoy and suggests new books. Kids also earn badges and small rewards, which makes reading feel like a game.
What Can Kids Find Inside Epic?
- Picture books for little readers
- Chapter books for older kids
- Read-to-me books, where the story is read aloud
- Audiobooks for listening time
- Short learning videos
- Quizzes that check what a child understood
Many books also come in more than one language, which helps families who speak different languages at home.
Is Epic Free?
This is one of the most searched questions, so let us answer it clearly.
For teachers: Epic School is free for educators and students during the school day. Teachers can assign books, share reading lists, and track how much their class is reading.
For families at home: Epic Family is a paid plan. It starts with a 7-day free trial. After that, you pay monthly or yearly. Prices can change, so always check the official website before you sign up.
A helpful tip: if your child’s school already uses Epic, ask the teacher for the class code. Free access may only work during school hours, so confirm the rules first.
How Do I Use Getepic Login?
Here is the simple way:
- Open getepic.com or the Epic app.
- Tap “Sign in.”
- Enter your email and password.
- Choose your child’s profile.
If your child is in a class, the teacher may give a class code or a student login. Enter that code to go straight to the books your teacher picked.
How Many Kids Can Use One Account?
The Epic Family plan allows up to four child profiles. Each child has their own reading list, their own badges, and their own progress. This is good for homes with brothers and sisters of different ages.
What Is the Parent Dashboard?
The parent dashboard shows what your child is reading, how long they read, and how they are growing. You do not need to guess. You can open it and see their progress.
Is Epic Safe for Children?
Epic is built as a kid-friendly space. Kids see books chosen for their age, and there are no open chats with strangers. Still, it is always smart to sit with your child in the first week, learn the app together, and set screen-time limits that suit your family.
Who Is Epic Best For?
- Parents who want a quiet, screen-time activity that is also educational
- Teachers who need a ready class library
- Homeschool families who want many books in one place
- Children who find it hard to start reading and need fun to get going
How to Get More From Epic
- Set a daily reading time, even 20 minutes
- Let your child pick the book, because choice builds love for reading
- Use read-to-me books for tired evenings
- Check the dashboard once a week and talk to your child about what they read
